Right. If Warlocks recorded their demo in '65...

The Acid Tests started in... 1965, as well?

But this has all been leading up to then, thus far.

Learning how to do research, or a quick internet search, is an important skill. It took me 15 seconds.
Hope this helps:

Looking back I became aware of just how many events I escaped by mere moments of not meeting just the wrong person. I was habitually in Laurel Canyon, usually Lookout Mountain Road, where rocker-wannabe acquaintances went, and one day at the front gate of Spawn Ranch on what was not my day to meet the Manson family. Did I look like a hippie? No. I was a conservative-dresser that worked at the Sunset Plaza branch of First Western Bank.
I drove by Zappa's house every single work-day and knew Laurel Canyon Road like the back of my hand.
The most actually interesting observation I made while working on Sunset and living in Hollywood, were the gathering hippie protests of the war. The air was full of rock music and on every street corner the police were strategically placed. What I felt was disgust and confusion because double-messaging is designed to produce exactly that. I hated the war, my friends went and some died. What the hippies did about the war was my introduction to Liberals and their inability to add 2 plus 2 and come up with 4. Because much of their protest were aimed at the returning soldiers who had suffered so greatly and then came home and were spat on and vilified as though they were responsible for the corruption that sent them to Viet Nam. This was a very great betrayal of our own returning damaged warriors. The effects of this have never stopped in our society. It certainly inflamed the drug culture. Many of our guys went overseas clean and came home ruined by drugs.

"Faked? Proof please."

Holly, head over to Miles W. Mathis' Updates. He does a deep dive that's very revealing. Keep in mind, in 1969 the avg. American simply wasn't that media savvy. We had grainy, black & white photos in smudgy newspapers and Charles Cronkite on rabbit ear antenna tv. Miles breaks down the "crime scene" photos in depth. In retrospect, quite amateurish.

Sharon was after all an actress ( father Paul in military intel active in L.A at the time ) and Roman after all, a producer.

Bobby Beausoleil, as a young man, bears a resemblance to Elmer Wayne Henley, a teenage accomplice of torturer/murderer Dean Corll. It is not whatsoever relevant to the Laurel Canyon people and events, or at least I cannot fathom how it could be.
