I’ve been reading this article with great interest. I grew up very, very close to the town of Woodstock, N.Y. and I have felt much of the same ambience there as I feel reading about Laurel Canyon. Much of that music scene had a lot of very strange, occult vibes to it. I should also say that I took a LOT of LSD while listening to Jim Morrison and others mentioned in this piece. But, to the point… From the beginning of all this, especially considering how many times you mention MKUltra, I have been reminded of a book I read some years back by a woman named Kathy O’Brien, named ‘The Trance-formation of America’. When I first read that book I thought it so over the top it couldn’t possibly be true… but over the years what I’ve witnessed just in the news has only strengthened, if not confirmed, the absolutely crazy tale she had to tell. If you have not read that book, you surely must. I would be interested to hear what you think about it.
