I can not see why Alissa would not publish your post.
Though I can think of a hundred reasons why it should not be... absolutely no point to your entire exercise. Why would you state the fact that you are a historian and then spend 250+ words on absolutely nothing?
Wow! Just wow indeed.

I am the daughter of Dave, the one and only moderator of this site, and I inherited his intellectual property when he died. I'm not sure what on this site makes you think I don't approve posts just because they question Dad's work. The only posts I don't approve are when people are being outright assholes with nothing to say but insults for Dad. They can fuck right off. Dad was a journalist and historian, like you, so if you think he has no room to share his research about the music industry because he wasn't a musician himself, then I'm confused why you started your post claiming your right to comment on this because you are a historian. Do you have any actual critiques or feedback about his research or the ideas he presented, or are you just angry about something else?

I am a historian researching the topic and I just have to express my thought here... (yes, I have to). I just love the internet writers who post these things on 'sites' with their undisputed truths and revelations from 60 years ago unvarnished by time or drugs or alcohol or their own ups and downs in life. Their stories to be accepted as gospel disparaging this one, elevating that one, dismissing this person, bestowing praise for another, opinion posing as fact to the internet reader who believes. I read these things (and there are more than one would think) of the 'essential' man (less so by a woman) who was the real force or the real mover and shaker, the real mentor, the man behind the success of other, well-known, influential, famous names we come to a site like that to learn about in the first place. Free to criticize that one's music, that one's motivation, that one's thoughts or feelings without contradiction or even recourse. Wow. Just wow. I'm always left with questions. Questions like: Give us your discography, please. Your resume. Your pedigree as a songwriter, performer, influential musician or writer of the 20th century. Show us what you've done. Accomplished. What you are rest on now (reference to 'laurels', get it?) in your old age when no one knows your name, recognizes your face, sings your songs or even hears them, mourns your passing, thinks of your lyrics, associates your work with significant times in their lives... Go ahead, we'll wait while you explain your bitterness at having been an auxiliary. An attachment. A hanger-on in a year out of an artist's life. Pathetic. This by the way is addressed to all of them; this post/site just happened to push me over the edge after reading one too many taking credit for inspiring this song, naming that one, writing most of another, etc. The whole 'They could never have done it without me' is... sad.
